On Thursday, June 13, 2024, students at Mount Kigali University excitedly awaited a special appointment in the busy halls. The event, named "Kigali in the Morning," was anchored by the dynamic Mr. Jesse Maxell Kiyingi and offered an insightful look at youth empowerment programs.
A lively tour of the campus opened the day and set the tone for an interesting talk. Excitement was in the air as the Master of Ceremonies, Mr. Festus Irungu, Associate Dean, greeted everyone warmly and fostered a spirit of unity.
With poise and confidence, Deputy Vice Chancellor of ARA Dr. Eugenia Nkechi Irechukwu took the podium. Her welcoming words were full of optimism and hope, highlighting the value of intercultural cooperation in promoting young empowerment.
The distinguished UAE Ambassador to Rwanda, H.E. Hazza AlQahtani, was next highlighted. He passionately and eloquently presented a vision of partnership and opportunity, highlighting the UAE's dedication to uplifting youngsters around the world.
Students jumped at the chance to learn from one another and exchange viewpoints when the floor was opened for questions and discussions. The lively, interactive event united people from different countries and ideas to work toward the shared objective of strengthening the next generation.
Three kids presented their innovative ideas for youth empowerment in a dramatic PowerPoint presentation, demonstrating their ingenuity and creativity. Their creativity inspired awe and demonstrated the ability of youthful vision to bring about social change.
H.E. the Ambassador presented awards to deserving students amid cheers and plaudits. Two young innovators received smartphones as a token of appreciation, signifying their access to opportunities and information. A modest yet meaningful gift of a box of dates, signifying the sweetness of achievement and tenacity, was given to another student.
H.E. the Ambassador recognized two pupils for their outstanding academic achievement and awarded them certificates of recognition. Their accomplishments demonstrated the transforming potential of education and offered as a ray of hope.
In an emotional show of appreciation, a trophy representing the long-lasting collaboration between Mount Kigali University and the UAE in developing young potential was given to the Deputy Vice Chancellor.
With prayers and reflections as the program came to an end, participants left with hearts full of hope and resolve. They set out on a journey driven by cooperation, creativity, and an unyielding confidence in the limitless potential of youth, united by a common goal of empowerment.
